We enjoyed our first vacation this past weekend at the Wild Oak Ranch in San Antonio. The boys were so excited to go on the trip and just laughed all the down I-10. We really couldn't believe how easy the drive was. It helps to play "I spy the Bucee's signs" for the first two hours too.
They loved exploring the hotel ... playing with all the faucets and keeping the place clean. They spent the first twenty minutes just racing around in circles through all of the rooms. Andrew would BEG to clean the floors ... every ten minutes:

After a quick nap, we headed downtown to Mi Tierra for some Mexican food. The place is a toddler wonderland!

We headed across the street for the highlight of the trip and bought the boys guitars from the market:
At this point, it was way past bedtime, but we still managed to hit up the hotel's outdoor movie and popcorn treat.
And, finally, the boys snuggled up in the sofa bed and fell fast asleep. Robert and I had the best time listening in on the conversation, Andrew: "Daniel, do you have all your night night stuff?" Such a good big brother!
Saturday morning we headed over to Seaworld, which was just across the street. Are the boys so excited to see Shamu in this picture?? Nope... they found the moon in the sky and couldn't be happier.
We had breakfast with the sesame characters.... it took about 30 minutes to warm up to it all but then we got some good smiles from the kids.

Next up, the massive jungle gym at Seaworld. Andrew scurried right into these tunnels that were suspended 30 ft in the air. So glad Daniel didn't want to go and I had an excuse to stay out of there. Robert sure got a work out though!
Everyone enjoyed the climbing nets though. So glad to see the boys getting a little more adventurous.
It wasn't all rosy ALL weekend long. There were some tantrums. Andrew, laying in the middle of seaworld, screaming. Daniel [toes pictured] enjoyed looking on. Yes, I'm that mom that took a picture.
We got some snacks and moved on to the Azul show. It was Cirque de Soleil w/ dolphin and whales. Pretty awesome. Apparently, half the stadium was laughing as our boys SQUEALED with each person that dove in the water ... and each dolphin that jumped out of the water. Glad to know a love for Cirque de Soleil is genetic!
After a very long nap (and a very long shower)... we hit up the game room and playground at the hotel.
Then some dinner at Rudy's BBQ. Nothing like dinner at a restaurant/gas station with the family!
Topped off the evening with smores by the campfire - my personal highlight! Did I mention the boys want to be Marshmallows for Halloween? This only fueled the fire ...
Seriously, could Daniel be any happier with his Marshmallow?

We were thrilled for a cool front and enjoyed the hotel fort, playgrounds and swings on Sunday morning:
Sadly, we had to come home at some point. The boys were still smiling for most of the car ride ...
We made a pit stop at the Landa farm to say hi and check out the Go-Carting. So fun and we had a blast catching up.
This trip could not have come at a better time. The family togetherness was great, the boys were at a perfect age to travel, and we all just enjoyed a new experience.
And then the stomach flu hit this house ...
