Andrew and Daniel started their first day of school today! They are in the 3.5 yr old class with Mrs. Cagle and Mrs. McCoy at our new school. When we walked into class, Andrew asks me "Are you leaving, mommy? -- Can you leave NOW!" He smiled sweetly, waved goodbye and gave me a big kiss. Daniel followed suit and I walked out of the room - the only tears today were my own. We have come a long way from last year's first day of school:
In front of their adorable classroom:
At 3.5, here are some thing going on with the kids:
- Both still love trains, legos and cars. They treat their cars like their babies and play "house" with them
- Most common phrase in our house is " Why do we [ fill in the blank ] allllllllllllllllllll day? "all" is about 14 syllables
- Daniel can write his full name as well as Andrew's, Mommy, Daddy and Ellie without being prompted. Andrew likes to focus on the "A" but can write his name when he is feeling confident. They love to practice writing letters and numbers.
-Both boys can read most three letter words and some four letter words
- Both can ride their bike with training wheels and love their scooters
- They still love dee dee and talk about him constantly has if he has thoughts and feelings
- They love playing together and have ridiculously cute coversations
- They love drawing and art projects, particularly rainbows and outerspace
- Recently have started playing "tag" and chasing each other and friends everywhere. Definitely becoming more active and acting like real boys vs toddlers
- Daniel is extremely articulate and focused; Andrew seems more outgoing and silly - this changes on a daily basis so who knows though!
Fun times around here watching these kiddos grow up. Can't wait to see what they learn in school this year.
