Family trip to San Antonio

Family trip time! We took the kids to the JW Marriott in San Antonio between Christmas and New Years for 3 nights, and it was wonderful! I loved all the family time, and especially being able to relax - no cooking, cleaning, laundry looming. It was nice to just spend time together. 

First off, we rearranged the the car and the boys are now in the way back. It was a delightful drive to San Antonio! The boys played on the iPad the entire time, Helen slept and played and nobody fought. The big loser though was our ability to pack anything in the car. But, on the plus side we didn't overpack at all so it all worked out!

It was chilly but still nice weather so we made some s'mores ... our favorite!

Helen was bundled up - she was having more fun that you can tell in this pic, promise:

 Helen's ability to walk really took off on this trip. She loved all the open spaces of the hotel hallways, lobby and outdoors. She didn't stop the whole time - I'm exhausted from chasing her. She wouldn't even pause for a picture:

She still loves to say "BALL" so this tree of "balls" was her favorite part of the lobby.

We visited the Natural Bridge Caverns which was about 20 minutes from the hotel. This was definitely a highlight and was so interesting.

We took their scooters. The hills were a little much though and we had a few wipe outs! Oops!

One afternoon it was warm enough to go swimming so Robert took the boys down this awesome tube slide and they all had a blast:

And of course a little trip down the lazy river, which apparently was too lazy and slow.

We found the basketball court but no basketball. So obviously we just played with our football. Doesn't it look like Helen is lined up for a pass?

My sweet three. They totally bonded on this trip. I feel like Andrew and Daniel like playing with Helen now and she is just obsessed with them. I assume it will only improve from here!

Obviously Helen brought her scooter too. I didn't need to bring any toys because she just wanted to ride this thing all over the room. She ended up having to sleep in the bathroom though b/c she wouldn't fall asleep in the boys room and they refused to have a sound machine on! Worked out great though.

All in all a great trip. Can't wait to plan the next!
